With boosting systems we understand the electric booster heating of conventional heated furnaces (heated with fossil fuel).
 
The furnace is equipped with electrodes by which the additional heating is provided. The electrodes can be used as bottom or side electrodes – or in a combined form.
 
With such an electrical booster heating system – called EZH – the melting rate can be flexible. Another aspect is that usually also the quality of produced glass will improve.
The inserted electrical power is dependent on the furnace size. The range of the electrical power can be from a few kilowatt (kW) to several megawatt (MW)
 
To design a boosting system according to customer requirements optimally a detailed investigation of the circumstances around the furnace is required. These were checked by us on the basis of physical or mathematical modeling.
